We are proud to announce the second Exclusive Coffees Private Auction from Costa Rica. The auction, will be held on Thursday 21st July, 2022. It will be an auction of special Nanolots; elevating Costa Rican Coffee to a higher level, highlighting the aromas and the land where the coffee is produced.
This year our auction has been inspired by Don Tuto Gamboa, a coffee producer and a micro miller himself with his son Emilio Gamboa. Our auction this year honors him as one of the pioners of the micro mill revolution in Costa Rica.
This auction represents the fruit of many years of dedicated work, of purpose, passion and patience honoring over 200 years of coffee production history in our beloved Costa Rica.

What can you expect from this auction?
The auction will contain coffees with cupping scores of 88+ which have been cupped and audited independently. There will be 33 coffees for this auction, split into Classic and Exotics coffees, each of quantities of 1-9 boxes (50.7lbs).
About the process to select the lots for this auction
The competition will be audited by Jimenez & Guzman Associates, members of Prime Global Organization from receipt of the coffees, to sample coding, through to the final results. Additionally, the cuppings will be held in the presence of 3 Observing Coffee Producers. This to guarante traceability and transparency from sample to shipment.
For the first round of the competition, the Organizing Committee received 90 samples from diverse varieties and producers from Costa Rica. All representing the high quality of the coffee for this competition.
The best 33 lots which rate 88+ will be selected to pass to our final round.
Key information for this auction:
- The auction will take place on Thursday, 21st July, 2022.
- Lot size: 1-9 boxes x 50.7 lbs. Each (all vacuum packed)
- Up to 33 lots will be available through the auction.
- 4 processes: Natural, Honeys, Anaerobics & Washed.
- Lots of a single variety.
- 88 + cupping score.
- Coffees will be judged and selected by a panel of five Q Graders, under the observation of one producer observer and one international observer.
- The cupping process will be regulated through third-party auditing and sample coding, with the presence of 3 Observing Coffee Producers, which will guarantee traceability and transparency from sample to shipment.
- Exclusive Coffees will keep supporting, sponsoring and participating as an active member in ACE in the annual Cup of Excellence Costa Rica Auction
- Cupping will be held in:
- Portland, Oregon: ACE LAB, 28th and 29th June .
- Milan: SCA June 24th
- We also are going to hold cuppings in New York, Liverpool (UK), Tokyo, Seoul, and Taipei.
